Alternative Stone Settings (6-9pm)

In Alternative Stone Setting, students explore a variety of methods and constructions which can be used to securely set either traditionally shaped or unusually shaped stones and artifacts. Settings to be explored may include, but are not limited to the following: reverse setting, cage setting, fabricated prong/basket setting, bezel-prong combinations, and altered bezels. Styles to be covered may be tailored to student need and experience.

*Prerequisite: Metalsmithing 2 or equivalent within the last 2 years. Must have experience with piercing, filing, sawing, and high temperature soldering.
