Combining Drawing and Printmaking, this course presents the drawing fundamentals necessary to produce quality prints. Students will be guided through mark making skills that translate to print while being introduced to ways to approach value, texture, and form. While the class will utilize Drawing fundamentals it will do so in service of print. The first half of this course will focus on drawing approaches that translate into print. The second half will focus on using these approaches to produce prints. Over the course we will explore printmaking techniques that have a strong relationship with drawing including Trace Monotype, Intaglio, and Collagraph.
