Upcycled Market Tote (6-9pm)

Experience Level: Confident Beginner to Proficient Sewist

Ages 16+

2 Days

In this two part workshop, participants will learn to make a generously sized and fully lined upcycle tote bag with a large outer pocket. A variety of thoughtfully curated secondhand textiles will be provided to choose from, such as vintage linens, quilts, and tea towels. Participants may also choose to bring their own textile to upcycle.  During the first class, we will choose fabrics, cut out our pattern pieces, and begin sewing, while chatting about sustainability in crafting and fashion.

During the second class, we will finish assembling our bags and finishing detailed work. If time permits, there will be a short upcycled zipper pouch demo.

Skills required :
If you can sew a straight - or even semi straight - line on a sewing machine and cut fabric with scissors, this is the class for you!
